Counselling and Psychotherapy
Compassionate support during difficult times
Sometimes life feels hard and we lose sight of who we are. We might experience a loss or another traumatic event, or perhaps nothing has changed externally but somehow our internal world feels empty, like the light has gone out. When life is challenging, finding the right support at the right time can help you navigate the confusion and find a way back to yourself. Through developing a trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship, we work together to better understand the issues which are causing your distress.
My initial psychotherapy training was in person-centred, gestalt and emotion-focused therapy, which all place the client and their feelings at the centre of the process. The therapist is not elevated into a position of power, but walks side by side with the client to help them find answers to questions that may be troubling them.
My ongoing study focuses on somatic psychotherapies, including sensorimotor psychotherapy (Pat Ogden), relational trauma therapy (Merete Holm Brantbjerg) and somatic trauma therapy (Babette Rothschild).
I use Zoom for online therapy and offer face to face sesssions in a woodland cabin near Whitland. Sessions last 50 minutes and offer an empathic, confidential space to explore your concerns. I currently have some availability for zoom sessions on a Tuesday and face to face sessions on a Wednesday.
My standard fee is £50 and I offer a small number of concessionary spaces. Please enquire about current availability, as concessionary places are in high demand. To book a session or to find out more about my approach, please contact me.
